The Binns Organ Trust was founded in 1993 with the object of maintaining the instrument and promoting interest in and enjoyment of music, particularly that involving the organ. Activities include recitals given by world-famous organists, and concerts involving choirs and other musicians to celebrate special occasions such as the Binns Centenary, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Great War commemoration. The 2014 programme of concerts included silent films accompanied by Donald MacKenzie.
The Trust is well aware that our audience appreciates a wide variety of music, and endeavours to widen the appeal of the organ still further.
